Harper’s day flew by as he got to grips with the business and tried to do some investigating into the money laundering. The problem was, he didn’t know who to trust. It was a matter of asking for a number of case files around the ones he was interested in and seeing if he could make any headway. So far there had been very little. Maybe he should get one of his Navy buddies to join the firm? Set them to investigating? Or perhaps get a firm of forensic accountants to come in. The only problem was he had to do it on the quiet. Akanke thought that it had been her boss Mike and that this was all over, but Harper was not sure, and he needed to know.

The day went by without any disturbances, but when it was time to go home Catherine popped into his office. She offered to buy him dinner so they could continue where they left off. As tempted as he was by the offer Harper did not want to miss dinner twice in a row with his wife, and so he asked her for a rain check.

Catherine was adamant that it would be fun to hang out again, but Harper wasn’t willing to disappoint his wife. In the end she conceded that the next time he would have to say yes. She watched him leave with anger in her eyes, unaware of the fact that his secretary was sitting right across from where she was. Clare had seen the scowl that crossed Catherine's face before she too took her leave. There was something about this woman that Claire didn’t like, and she wondered if she should say something to Mrs. Nelson. She knew Mr. Nelson loved his wife, there was no doubt about it but his friendship with this woman spelled trouble for his marriage, she just knew it. She only hoped he realized before it was too late.

As Harper made his way home to his wife, he thought about the fact that he had not yet introduced Cat to her, and he thought it was a good idea to do so. His life was truly coming together.

It had been two weeks since Harper had declined Catherine’s offer, and although she had not come to his office in person, she still called to check up on him. It made him feel like their friendship was getting back on track except he really wanted her to meet Akanke. However, every time he brought it up Cat had either changed the subject or had an excuse as to why she couldn’t come to his home to meet her. His wife, on the other hand, was eager to meet the best friend that had got her husband so hyped up when he talked about the escapades they went on when they were younger. They both found it odd that she avoided any meeting with her, but had agreed that when the time was right then they would definitely cross paths.
